As we go about our daily business, we interact with several people. Every relationship we share is defined and bound by a framework. The only connection to surpass these boundaries is that of friendship. While most other associations are justified by kinship, friendship is the only bond one can attain without having ties of blood or inheritance. Friendship is like a tender bloom, a compassionate bond between individuals, based on respect, admiration and harmony.

Such a unique friendship is cherished by maestros, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, names closely connected to the Santoor and the Flute. Shivji and Hariji have been friends for over six decades. Their friendship has blossomed over the years and is an extension of the harmony between their music. The theme calendar ‘SwaraMaitra’ has been designed to commemorate the bond between the two.
