The silent screen of the Indian cinema first got words; it became vocal. Thereafter came background music and the momentous start of play-back singing. The cinematic art world underwent a revolutionary transformation. This radically changed reality has kept the audiences simply enthralled. With the lapse of time some of the movies might have escaped public memory but the powerful medium of Radio has retained the melody of vintage music and even today continues to keep the audiences mesmerized.
